Combustion systems are designed for safe operation, but fuel burning equipment can pose serious dangers if not regularly maintained. Eclipse recommends that combustion systems be inspected annually to determine compliance with current combustion safety standards such as the NFPA86 Standard for Ovens and Furnaces as published by the National Fire Protection Association, www.nfpa.org.
Using a 30-point checklist, Eclipse certified service technicians can perform safety audits to various standards including NFPA86, FM, GE GAP (formerly Industrial Risk Insurers), CSA B-149.3M00 or other insurance underwriter standards and requirements. (Eclipse safety audits focus on the combustion process and do not address OSHA requirements.)
All findings are documented. Safety Audits can be scheduled as a one time visit to be billed on a time and materials basis or can be purchased and performed as part of a multiple-visit Support Agreement. More information about safety audits is available in Eclipse Bulletin 1622-GS.
